Stained glass windows and ancient church architecture influence much of my surface design process. Using clay as a canvas for these images enables me to explore stone and glass in an innovative way. The wood fire and soda fire aesthetic help to connect the present to the past. Ceramic art lasts through the ages as the Church has lasted. Functional pottery can have that timeless connection as well. We live in an ever changing world, but still there are things that are seemingly eternal.
